LEE RAWSTRON BUSTED FOR SHOCKING VOYEURISM IN BRIXHAM AND PAIGNTON

In a disturbing case that has shocked the local communities of Brixham and Paignton, Lee Rawstron, a 35-year-old man with ties to both seaside towns, was found guilty of installing covert recording devices to spy on teenage girls and young women. The incident unfolded during a seaside theatre musical, where Rawstron, a known figure in the local arts scene, secretly planted miniature cameras in the changing rooms used by performers and dancers.

According to reports, Rawstron managed to sneak into the dressing areas while the cast was on stage, carefully hiding high-definition recording devices inside a waste bin. His sinister plan was to capture images of the teenage actress and four schoolgirl dancers in their underwear, an act that has been described as both depraved and deeply invasive. The cameras, which were shaped like key fobs, went unnoticed until one girl, upon discarding a chocolate wrapper, spotted the tiny devices and alerted others.

The authorities were promptly called, and a raid was conducted at Rawstron’s residence. During the search, police uncovered additional footage from another camera that Rawstron had clandestinely installed in the toilets of Brixham Theatre, a popular venue in South Devon. This evidence further confirmed the extent of his voyeuristic activities and his obsession with secretly recording young women.

Judge Phillip Wassall, presiding over the case at Exeter Crown Court, did not hold back in condemning Rawstron’s actions. He described the offences as “foul and depraved,” emphasizing that such behavior is likely to provoke outrage among the public. Rawstron, who is also known for his role as Bill in the production of "Me And My Girl" performed by the Brixham Operatic and Amateur Dramatic Society, faced serious charges of voyeurism.

He pleaded guilty to four counts of voyeurism, and as part of his sentence, was ordered to attend a sex offenders’ course. The court imposed a three-year community order, requiring him to undergo treatment and remain under supervision. Defense lawyer Kevin Hopper expressed remorse on Rawstron’s behalf, stating that his client was “very sorry” for his actions and was seeking help to address his behavior.
