KYLER RATTRAY CHARGED WITH MURDERING DOCTOR IN DUNDEE STREET

A 20-year-old man named Kyler Kenneth Rattray of St Clements Place, Dundee has been charged with the murder of Dr. Fortune Gomo on Dundee's South Road.

The incident occurred on Saturday afternoon around 4.25pm when Dr. Gomo, a 39-year-old respected environmental scientist and recent Scottish Water recruit, was found seriously injured at the scene.

Despite paramedic efforts, she was pronounced dead there. Rattray made a court appearance on Monday at Dundee Sheriff Court, where he faced a charge of murder.

He did not enter a plea and was remanded into custody. He is expected to reappear court within eight days.

Dr. Gomo was an esteemed scientist and PhD graduate of the University of Dundee, having recently started working with Scottish Water.

Detective superintendent Peter Sharp, overseeing the investigation, expressed condolences and assured the public that the incident poses no wider risk.

The police are following multiple lines of inquiry and have urged witnesses or anyone with relevant information to contact police on 101, referencing incident number 2283 of July 5, 2025, or to call Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111.
