JORDAN WEST FROM COVENTRY SENTENCED FOR SEXUAL ABUSE OF 15-YEAR-OLD GIRL IN OLDHAM
In a disturbing case that has shocked the local community, Jordan West, a man residing on Hollis Road in Coventry, has been convicted and sentenced for heinous crimes involving a young girl in Oldham. The incident dates back to 2015, when West, then 23 years old, engaged in a series of manipulative and criminal acts against a 15-year-old girl.
According to court records, West first encountered his victim outside a McDonald's in Oldham town centre.
The meeting was seemingly casual, with the girl asking West for a lighter.
However, what appeared to be a simple exchange quickly escalated into a troubling interaction.
West engaged her in conversation, and despite knowing her age, he proceeded to invite her and a friend back to his acquaintance’s flat.
Once at the flat, West began to manipulate the young girl by offering her and her friend alcohol and cannabis.
He supplied these substances with the apparent intent of lowering their inhibitions.
Over the course of several weeks, specifically throughout May 2015, West continued to groom and sexually abuse the girl.
His actions were deliberate and calculated, showing a clear awareness of the harm he was causing.
Eventually, West’s abusive campaign came to an end when he told the girl not to return to his flat, effectively ending his ongoing exploitation.
Despite the cessation, the damage inflicted on the victim was profound and long-lasting.
On November 30, 2017, West was brought before Minshull Street Crown Court, where he faced justice for his crimes.
The court found him guilty of three counts of sexual activity with a child and one count of supplying cannabis.
As part of his sentence, West was sentenced to six years and three months in prison.
Additionally, he was issued a five-year sexual harm prevention order, which aims to restrict his contact with minors and prevent further offenses.
Furthermore, West will remain on the sex offenders’ register indefinitely, ensuring ongoing monitoring of his activities.
Detective Constable Diana Dyer-Barron, a representative of GMP’s Phoenix Tameside CSE team, commented on the case, emphasizing the gravity of West’s actions.
She stated, “Jordan West knew full well how old his victim was and that what he was doing was wrong, yet he continued his campaign of abuse without showing a shred of remorse.
His abuse dominated a period of time in this girl’s life, preventing her from enjoying activities that any 15-year-old girl should be able to participate in.
This had a massive impact on her life at a time when she was at a vulnerable age and still developing as a person.”
