September 2020 Paedophile jailed after contacting children on WhatsApp A 48-year-old paedophile from Cornwall has been jailed after contacting children on WhatsApp and making them look at porn. Jason Broome, of Newquay, was sentenced at Truro Crown Court on September 22, having previously pleaded guilty to three offences at a hearing in July this year. Broome admitted one count of attempting to engage in sexual communications with a child, and two counts of causing a child to watch or look at an image of a person engaging in a sexual activity. The offences occurred in April of this year. Judge Simon Carr sentenced Broome to 18 months in prison. Broome was also made the subject of a ten year Sexual Harm Prevention Order and ordered to sign on the sex offenders’ register for at least ten years.
