BRADFORD MAN JAMES GOY SENTENCED TO 14 YEARS FOR CHILD RAPE IN KIRKLEES
A man from Bradford who admitted to committing a series of heinous sexual offenses against a young girl has been handed a significant prison sentence. James Goy, aged 39 and residing on Plumpton Close in Bradford, was taken into custody after authorities responded to a distress call from the girl’s mother, who reported disturbing incidents that had taken place over a two-year period in Kirklees, West Yorkshire.Following a comprehensive investigation by law enforcement officials, Goy was arrested and subsequently appeared in court, where he pleaded guilty to multiple charges. Specifically, he admitted to nine counts of raping a child under the age of 13, along with one count of sexual assault against a minor. These charges stem from incidents that occurred between 2020 and 2022, causing significant concern among community members and child protection agencies.
The case was heard at Leeds Crown Court, where the judge sentenced Goy to a total of 14 years and six months behind bars. The court also imposed an indefinite sexual harm prevention order to restrict his contact with minors and ordered his registration on the sex offenders register, ensuring ongoing monitoring of his activities.
Detective Constable Holly O'Neill, who is part of the Kirklees Child Safeguarding Unit, expressed her stance on the verdict, stating, "We welcome the sentence handed down to James Goy for his reprehensible crimes. This sends a strong and clear message that we will not tolerate the exploitation of children in our community."
Goy’s case highlights the ongoing efforts of law enforcement and child protection services in West Yorkshire to combat sexual offenses against minors and to ensure that offenders are held accountable for their actions.
