December 2014 Warminster man, 50, jailed for 12 years over child sex offences A Warminster man has been jailed for 12 years for historical child sex offences. Glyn Ricardo Ballard, aged 50 of High Street, was found guilty of one count of rape and eleven counts of indecent assault/sexual activity with children following a trial at Winchester Crown Court. The offences were committed between 1981 and 2005. Judge Boney sentenced him to a total of 12 years imprisonment on Monday. The judge said Ballard was: “A skillful liar and knew no boundaries. There was no doubt that he posed a risk to young girls.” This case was concluded after a long and difficult investigation. Detective Constable Dave Topp said: “We are satisfied with the result and we hope it will encourage other victims to come forward regardless of when offences were committed against them.” Anyone who has been the victim of sexual abuse can contact Wiltshire Police on 101 or call the Sexual Assault referral Centre on 0808 168 0024.
