PETERBOROUGH MAN JAILED FOR ASSAULT AND THREATS TO KILL WIFE
A man named Gheorghe Badelita has been found guilty and received a prison sentence following an incident involving assault and threats against his wife. Police reports indicate that on 18 December, Badelita was involved in a dispute with his wife at their home on Burmer Road, New England, Peterborough. During this confrontation, he assaulted her physically by punching and slapping her. Although he was initially released on bail after his arrest, he was re-arrested due to charges of criminal damage after returning to the residence. At Huntingdon Law Courts, he received a 28-month prison term. Despite denying three charges of making threats to kill, common assault, and criminal damage in court proceedings held in July, he was found guilty. Additionally, he was issued a five-year restraining order preventing any contact with the victim. PC Rebecca Risebrow from Cambridgeshire Police commented, “Badelita’s actions caused significant fear to the victim through his violent conduct. I am glad justice has been served. Domestic abuse remains a key focus for us, and we are dedicated to safeguarding victims and prosecuting offenders.”
