FREDERICK STOTT OF BOLTON AND BREIGHTMET SHOCKS COMMUNITY WITH CHILD PORN AND FRAUDULENT WEBSITE

In a disturbing case that has sent shockwaves through the Bolton and Breightmet communities, Frederick Keith Stott, aged 49, has been linked to serious criminal activities involving child exploitation and illegal online conduct. Stott, a man previously known for his work in health education, has now become the focus of intense scrutiny following revelations about his past and present activities.

Stott’s criminal history dates back to at least 2001 and 2002, when he was convicted of possessing and making indecent images of children. In July 2001, he was arrested after police uncovered a computer in a brick outbuilding at the bottom of his garden in Bolton. The forensic examination of his computer revealed a disturbing collection of images depicting children in sexual situations, which police confirmed were obscene and indicative of sexual exploitation. Det Sgt Julie Barnes, who was involved in the investigation, stated that the computer contained a significant amount of material related to child abuse, and that Stott had kept the device securely locked in the outbuilding, not allowing family members access.

Prior to his arrest, Stott was employed as a health studies lecturer at a Bolton college and also worked part-time for Careline, an organization dedicated to assisting the elderly. His dual roles in education and elder care made his criminal activities particularly shocking to those who knew him. The police investigation uncovered that Stott had stored the illicit images on a computer hard drive and on 13 floppy disks, which held up to 50 images of children in sexualized contexts. The evidence was deemed incompatible with Stott’s claims that he was merely conducting research for health-related purposes.

Following his conviction, Stott was sentenced to six months in prison at Manchester Crown Court and was ordered to register as a sex offender. The court’s decision was based on eight counts of making indecent photographs of children, with the offences spanning from October 2000 to February 2001. The seriousness of his actions led to his removal from the professional register of nurses by the Nursing and Midwifery Council, following a disciplinary hearing in London.

Despite his criminal record, Stott has attempted to re-establish himself in the community through a new business venture. He has set up a company called KSL Training, which is advertised in the North West Business Pages and on The Bolton Information Network website. The firm primarily offers first aid courses aimed at office workers and young people. The courses include basic first aid training, with recent offerings targeted at younger candidates. His wife, Veronica, who resides with him in Breightmet, defended his current activities, stating, “He does run the first aid training but business goes up and down and recently it has been quiet, but not because of this.”

However, when approached by the Manchester Evening News, Stott distanced himself from his current work, claiming, “I am no longer working in first aid and the website is going to be shut down very shortly. I don’t want to say what job I am doing now but it is not anything to do with health care.” This statement suggests a possible attempt to distance himself from his past and current activities amid ongoing scrutiny.

Stott’s background also includes a period when he was a magistrate’s clerk, and he was involved in the community as a volunteer. His past as a college lecturer and his work with vulnerable populations made his criminal conduct even more alarming to those who knew him. The police investigation and subsequent court proceedings have highlighted the dangers posed by individuals who attempt to conceal their illicit activities behind legitimate careers and community service. The case continues to attract media attention, raising questions about how such individuals can be monitored and prevented from reoffending or engaging in harmful conduct.
