ELVIS WILLIAMS SENTENCED TO 13 YEARS FOR ATTACKS IN SOUTHAMPTON
Elvis Williams, aged 63 and residing on Mosaic Close in Southampton, faced the court on Tuesday, 2 January, at Southampton Crown Court to answer for a series of serious criminal charges.After a thorough legal process, he was sentenced to a substantial term of 13 years in prison for his offenses committed against a woman in her 60s.
Williams had previously entered a guilty plea to two separate assault charges involving the same victim.
However, he denied allegations of more severe crimes, including coercive and controlling behavior, rape, and intentional strangulation.
Despite his denial, a jury at Southampton Crown Court found him guilty of all the charges after a five-day trial that concluded on Friday, 28 July.
The court proceedings revealed disturbing details about the incident that took place on Saturday, 4 March.
The victim, in a state of distress, fled her home seeking help and encountered a dog walker nearby.
She recounted to the authorities that Williams had physically assaulted her, punching her multiple times, and had forced her into non-consensual sexual acts.
The victim also disclosed that Williams had previously strangled her to the point where she could not breathe, an act that left her feeling terrified and helpless.
Following the assault, police officers responded swiftly to the scene.
The victim provided a detailed account of the violence inflicted upon her, which led to Williams’s arrest.
He was subsequently charged with multiple serious offenses, including rape, intentional strangulation, engaging in controlling and coercive behavior, and two counts of assault.
The case highlights the severity of the crimes committed and the justice served in the Southampton area.
