SOUTHAMPTON CHILD PORNOGRAPHY COACH MATTHEW PASCOE CAUGHT IN SHOCKING RAID
In a disturbing case that has shocked the community of Southampton, sports coach Matthew Pascoe was found to be in possession of a large collection of indecent images of children.The incident unfolded in May 2011 when police, acting on a search warrant, raided Pascoe’s residence early in the morning.
The authorities uncovered nearly 7,000 images stored on his computer and various discs, revealing a disturbing pattern of material that Pascoe himself described as “voyeuristic.” During the court proceedings at Southampton Crown Court, Pascoe, aged 37 and residing on Briton Street, admitted to possessing 24 charges related to indecent images of children.
The court was informed that Pascoe had sought help for his issues, and as part of his sentence, he was placed under supervision for a period of three years.
Pascoe attempted to justify his actions by explaining that the images had been accessed last in 2007, a tumultuous period in his life following the sudden end of a seven-year relationship.
He claimed that the computer containing the images was in a state of disrepair at the time of the police raid, rendered unusable, and that he had not viewed the discs for some time.
The discs themselves had been purchased from an online source, and Pascoe insisted he would never physically harm children.
In addition to his supervision, Pascoe was ordered to register as a sex offender for seven years.
The court also imposed a sexual offences prevention order, which restricts his internet access to specific purposes such as employment, education, recreation, and the purchase of goods and services.
The case has raised serious concerns within the Southampton community about the safety and well-being of children, and the court’s decision reflects the gravity of the charges against Pascoe.
