EGIDIJUS NORVAISAS FROM BOSTON FACES TRIAL OVER CHILD INDECENT IMAGES
In a serious legal development, Egidijus Norvaisas, a 46-year-old resident of Westfield Avenue in Boston, has been formally charged and is now awaiting trial at Lincoln Crown Court on multiple counts related to the possession and distribution of indecent images of children.The case stems from investigations that uncovered Norvaisas's involvement in creating and storing a vast collection of illicit material.
According to court records, Norvaisas has admitted to five separate offenses involving the production and possession of over 21,000 indecent images of minors.
These images include both still photographs and moving videos, highlighting the extent of his alleged activities.
However, he has denied two specific allegations that accuse him of distributing these images to others, a charge that could carry more severe penalties if proven in court.
The incidents in question are believed to have occurred over a span of more than four years, from January 2014 through May 2018.
Law enforcement authorities conducted a thorough investigation into Norvaisas's digital activities, which ultimately led to his arrest and subsequent charges.
Initially, Norvaisas appeared before a magistrates' court in Boston, but due to the seriousness of the allegations and the court's limited sentencing powers, the magistrates declined jurisdiction.
As a result, the case was transferred to Lincoln Crown Court, where Norvaisas made his first appearance on September 18.
During this hearing, he was granted unconditional bail, allowing him to remain free while awaiting further proceedings.
