NIGEL WALKER FROM BOSTON SENTENCED FOR CHILD SEX ABUSE IN OXFORDSHIRE

In a disturbing case that spans decades, Nigel Walker, a resident of Boston, Lincolnshire, has been convicted of heinous crimes involving the sexual abuse of two young children during the 1970s. The abuse took place at various addresses in Oxfordshire, where Walker subjected the victims to a series of traumatic acts that have left a lasting impact.

Walker, aged 60 at the time of sentencing, was initially scheduled to stand trial at Oxford Crown Court on multiple charges, including rape, indecent assault, and gross indecency. The allegations detailed a pattern of predatory behavior that spanned several years, with Walker employing threats and violence to maintain control over his young victims. During the proceedings, it was revealed that Walker had at times threatened the children with a knife, a detail that underscored the severity of his intimidation tactics.

On the second day of his trial, Walker unexpectedly changed his plea and admitted to nine counts related to the sexual abuse of the children. The court heard that the abuse involved multiple sexual acts, with one of the victims being raped. Prosecutor Matthew Walsh described Walker’s conduct as cruel and bullying, emphasizing that he exploited his greater age and physical dominance to intimidate and harm the children. Particularly disturbing was the revelation that Walker carried a sheathed blade, approximately eight inches long and one and a half inches wide, which he kept in a leather sheath. This weapon was used as a tool of intimidation and threat, further demonstrating the level of danger and control Walker exerted over his victims. The victims, whose identities are protected for legal reasons, endured a series of traumatic experiences that have had lasting psychological effects.

At the sentencing hearing, Judge Maria Lamb sentenced Nigel Walker to a total of 11 years in prison. Additionally, he will serve an extended period on licence for two years following his release, ensuring continued supervision and restrictions to prevent any further harm.
