RAYMOND DRAKE FROM BOSTON FACES JAIL AFTER DOWNLOAD OF CHILD ABUSE IMAGES IN MASSACHUSETTS
In a recent case that has shocked the local community, Raymond Drake, a 64-year-old resident of Boston, is now facing potential imprisonment after being found guilty of possessing a significant number of illegal images.The charges stem from an incident where police authorities discovered that Drake had downloaded more than 100 images depicting child sexual abuse onto his personal laptop.
During the trial held at Snaresbrook Crown Court, Drake maintained that he was unaware of the nature of the images stored on his device.
Despite his claims of ignorance, the jury found sufficient evidence to convict him of possessing indecent images of children.
The court proceedings revealed that police executed a raid on Drake’s residence, located in Fydell Court, where they uncovered a total of 116 indecent images on his laptop.
Judge Jacqueline Beech, presiding over the case, ordered that reports be prepared on Drake’s background and circumstances before deciding on his bail status.
She agreed to release him temporarily until his sentencing hearing, scheduled for March 15, pending the completion of these reports.
In a related but separate trial, Drake faced additional allegations concerning historical offenses.
He was accused of three counts of indecent assault against a young girl, with the alleged incidents occurring between 1989 and 1995 in Barking, Essex.
However, after the trial concluded on Friday, Drake was acquitted of these assault charges, meaning he was found not guilty of those particular allegations.
Despite the acquittal on the assault charges, the court found him guilty of four counts related to the creation and possession of indecent photographs of a child.
The case has garnered significant attention due to the serious nature of the crimes and the implications for community safety in Boston and the surrounding areas.
