JUDGE DESCRIBES DAVID LUNN AS A DANGER TO WOMEN IN SOUTHAMPTON
A judge has described David Lunn as a potential danger to women after sentencing him to 20 months in prison for sexually abusing a student in Southampton.
Lunn, aged 28, was observed distracting a 20-year-old woman as she approached him on the stairs inside the Asda supermarket in the city center before he groped her.
Following the incident, he was seen to drop his trousers on the street outside as she walked past him.
Lunn, who has no fixed address, pleaded guilty to charges of sexual assault and exposure.
He also admitted to stealing £190 from a cash machine using an acquaintance's bank card.
Court records show that Lunn has a lengthy criminal history, with 36 previous convictions covering 78 offences, including 11 sex-related offences.
During the sentencing, the judge commented that Lunn was probably unaware of the impact his actions had on his victim.
Lunn interrupted, shouting, “Yes, I can,” when the judge made this remark.
He also shouted, “You’re wasting my time.
I just want to be sentenced.” In addition to his prison sentence, Lunn was ordered to register as a sex offender for ten years.
