January 2007 Sun gets paedophile locked up A CHILD molester let out of jail to start an affair with a single mum was back behind bars last night — thanks to The Sun. Pervert Colin Ford, 44, was re-arrested after our reporters saw him kissing the divorcée in the street and buying flowers. We told the Probation Service that known paedo Ford — out on licence barely midway through a three-year sentence for sex attacks on two schoolgirls — was associating with the mother of a young daughter. Within THREE HOURS he was picked up at his bedsit and returned to prison for an alleged breach of his licence conditions. Ford first met the divorcée in jail while she was visiting another prisoner. After being let out he immediately began an affair with her — staying at his parents home right opposite a school in Oldbury, West Midlands, before moving to Cannock, Staffs, to be nearer her. Ford had told his new sweetheart about the offences against girls of 12 and 13 for which he was jailed in 2005. It is believed officials knew about their fling and warned Ford, who is on the sex offenders register, never to be alone with anyone under 18. Shortly before his re-arrest the pervert said: I have spent two weekends at my new girlfriends but her daughter was never there. His mother Margaret told us: Its The Suns fault my son is back in jail. You should be ashamed. But an ex-pal said: Ford should never have been let within 100 miles of a girl. The National Probation Service said it could not discuss individual prisoners cases.
