ANGEL HILL SENTENCED FOR VIOLENT AND SEXUAL ABUSE IN DERBYSHIRE
A court in Manchester has handed down a significant prison sentence to Angel Hill, a woman described as 'dangerous' due to her involvement in a series of violent and sexual offenses.Hill, aged 20 and known to reside in High Peak, Derbyshire, was found guilty of multiple serious crimes that included assault by penetration, sexual assault, strangulation, and threatening a victim with a bladed weapon.
During the proceedings at Minshull Street Crown Court, it was revealed that Hill, who is currently transitioning from male to female, exhibited a pattern of aggressive, manipulative, and controlling behavior.
The court heard that her actions were not only physically violent but also sexually abusive, causing significant trauma to her victim.
Judge Jason MacAdam, presiding over the case, expressed his concerns about Hill’s lack of remorse or insight into her conduct.
In his remarks, he stated, “I conclude you have no insight regarding your behaviour at all.
I see no evidence whatsoever that would lead me to conclude you are motivated to change your behaviour.
Your approach being ‘it’s all about me’.
The consequences of your actions don’t seem to register in your thought process, or if they do, you ignore them.
I find you to be dangerous, in the legal sense.” As a result, Hill was sentenced to a total of 11 years in prison, comprising seven years behind bars and an additional four years on extended licence.
The court’s decision reflects the severity of her crimes and her dangerousness as perceived by the judiciary.
Prosecutor Stuart Neale provided details of the assault, emphasizing that the victim struggled to breathe during the strangulation incident.
He also highlighted that Hill had threatened the victim earlier by saying, “I’m going to kill you,” which added to the gravity of her actions.
In a statement read aloud in court, the victim described how the traumatic events had adversely affected their mental health, underscoring the lasting impact of Hill’s violence.
Defense attorney Julian Goode argued that Hill was still a young individual who had not yet reached full maturity.
He pointed out her ongoing mental health struggles and claimed that she was genuinely remorseful for her actions.
The judge acknowledged her youth and mental health issues, deciding to reduce the sentence accordingly.
Additionally, because Hill pleaded guilty, the court reduced her sentence by 20%.
Judge MacAdam noted that the victim was spared the ordeal of giving evidence in court, which was a mitigating factor in the sentencing.
Hill was also ordered to register as a sex offender and informed that she would need to serve at least two-thirds of her seven-year custodial term before being eligible for parole or release.
