February 2023 Swindon paedophile jailed for having hundreds of child abuse images A paedophile from Swindon has been jailed for having hundreds of indecent images of children. Alun Eric Topp will now be behind bars for 32 months after pleading guilty to making and distributing indecent images of children and possession of extreme pornographic images. The 48-year-old of Bexley Walk in Park South received this sentence at Swindon Crown Court on Friday. Last year, police received information to suggest that a Twitter account that was associated to a telephone number believed to belong to Topp had uploaded indecent images online. Officers then attended the defendant’s address on February 19 and arrested him. A search was conducted of his home address and officers located 11 media devices which were seized for further analysis.  Following further extensive enquiries, a total of 542 category A images were found – this refers to images depicting the most serious child abuse and child rape
