ADAM BUTLER FROM SOUTHPORT SENTENCED FOR CHILD ABUSE IMAGE OFFENSES
In a recent court ruling, Adam Butler, a 32-year-old resident of Southport, was handed a prison sentence of 20 months after being found guilty of possessing and sharing a significant number of child abuse images. The investigation into Butler’s activities was initiated following police raids conducted at his residence in Southport, during which officers uncovered a disturbing collection of indecent images.
Authorities revealed that Butler had downloaded nearly 2,000 images depicting child abuse, some of which were classified in the most severe categories of indecency.
The police investigation also uncovered that Butler had shared a portion of these images with others through online messaging platforms, with a total of 102 images being disseminated in this manner.
During questioning, Butler maintained that he was unaware of the illegal nature of the content he possessed and shared.
Despite his claims, the evidence collected during the raid was substantial enough to warrant a significant prison sentence.
