WILLIAM ALCOCK FROM ST AUSTELL SENTENCED FOR BRUTAL RAPE IN FRONT OF CHILD
In November 2017, William John Alcock, a 33-year-old man from St Austell, was sentenced to 14 years in prison after committing a violent rape. The Truro Crown Court heard that Alcock subjected his victim to multiple assaults that were described as deliberately painful and humiliating, including one incident witnessed by her six-year-old child.Judge Simon Carr stated that the young boy had been interviewed by police and had attempted to describe something no six-year-old should ever witness. The case was further complicated by additional significant aggravating factors: Alcock had consumed alcohol, and he used a high level of violence to hurt and punish the woman.
Alcock was found guilty by a jury on three counts of rape and one count of assault by penetration. He received a sentence of 14 years for each of the rape counts and six years for the assault, all to run concurrently. Judge Carr emphasized Alcock’s status as a ‘significant and serious’ danger to women and added that he would be registered as a sex offender for life.
