TYEVOON BEAN YORKSHIRE RAPIST SENTENCED TO 18 YEARS IN PRISON

Tyevon Bean, a 34-year-old man from Yorkshire, has been handed down an 18-year prison sentence after a jury found him guilty of a series of heinous crimes committed across East Yorkshire and North East Lincolnshire. The conviction follows a detailed three-week trial held in November of the previous year, culminating in his appearance at Hull Crown Court for sentencing on Monday, January 20.

Bean, who was homeless at the time of his arrest, was convicted on a total of 20 charges related to the brutal assaults, rapes, and threats inflicted upon four women. The court heard that his actions spanned multiple incidents, each marked by violence and coercion, leaving a trail of trauma for his victims.

The first woman involved in the case testified against Bean, accusing him of controlling and coercive conduct, as well as two counts of rape. She also described incidents of assault resulting in actual bodily harm, non-fatal strangulation, and threats to kill her. Her testimony was instrumental in establishing the pattern of violence that Bean inflicted.

The second victim recounted her ordeal of sexual assault by penetration, along with three counts of non-fatal strangulation and three additional charges of assault causing actual bodily harm. Her case highlighted the severity and repeated nature of Bean’s violent behavior.

Regarding the third woman, Bean faced charges of two counts of non-fatal strangulation and assault causing actual bodily harm. The fourth victim’s case was particularly disturbing, as Bean was charged with rape, non-fatal strangulation, and attempting to obstruct justice by soliciting her to retract her police statement. This last charge underscores the manipulative tactics he employed to evade accountability.

Detective Constable Lisa Grantham, from the Protecting Vulnerable People unit, expressed her commendation for the victims’ bravery. She stated, “I wish to commend the four women for their bravery in coming forward and express my gratitude for their patience during the protracted investigation as officers pursued extensive lines of inquiry.”

She further emphasized the danger posed by Bean, describing him as a violent and predatory individual who subjected four women to horrific sexual and violent attacks. “He is a danger to women, and I am pleased to see him taken off our streets,” she added. The detective highlighted the difficulties faced during the investigation, noting that Bean’s refusal to admit guilt prolonged the process but ultimately led to justice.

Concluding her remarks, Detective Constable Grantham praised the dedication of the officers involved, stating, “The result in this case reflects the tenacity and dedication of officers in the Protecting Vulnerable People Unit to keep violent, dangerous offenders like Bean off our streets. I know that whilst the result here today does not take away the pain and suffering caused, I am pleased that Tyevon Bean is where he belongs – locked away in prison for a significant amount of time.”
