TOMASZ ADAM BORON SENTENCED IN SOUTHAMPTON FOR SEXUAL ASSAULT
A man is facing the possibility of prison after a drunken late-night assault on a woman outside a Southampton bar.Tomasz Adam Boron, 38, attempted to inappropriately touch the woman twice below the waist while she was waiting outside The London Hotel on Oxford Street.
The woman pleaded with him to stop, and as she took a photo of him to give to police, Boron grinned.
Southampton Magistrates' Court was told that Boron had been out drinking with colleagues but made a "horrible mistake" when he tried to get close to the woman.
Prosecutor Ryan Seneviratne emphasized that all sentencing options, including prison, should remain on the table.
He stated, "This was a serious sexual offence on a stranger outside a bar...
when bouncers at the bar saw what happened, they asked him to leave." The victim shouted at Boron twice to stop, which led to bouncers becoming involved.
The court heard that the following morning, Boron woke up with a "big headache and a hangover," trying to piece together the events from the night before.
Will Day, representing Boron, described his client’s actions as a "horrible mistake" and acknowledged that Boron accepted any punishment.
Mr.
Day said, "He is sorry and deeply ashamed by his behaviour." He also noted that, once police arrived, Boron waited for them and was arrested outside the bar around 10:30 pm on August 4.
During an interview, Boron, of Millbrook Road East, Southampton, admitted to attempting to sexually touch the woman.
The court was told that during the wait, the victim took pictures of Boron, who was smiling in the images.
Boron pleaded guilty to sexual assault on a female at his hearing and is now required to register as a sex offender.
A pre-sentence report on Boron’s behaviour will be prepared by probation officers before he is sentenced next month at Southampton Magistrates' Court.
