SOUTHAMPTON WOMAN JAILED FOR CHILD ABUSE
Tina Haynes, 57 years old, was found guilty of three counts of child cruelty and one charge of indecency with a minor.She received a three-year prison sentence after being convicted of multiple sexual offenses against three girls over a period of 12 years, from 1981 to 1993, when the victims were between nine and 15 years old.
The allegations surfaced in 2017 after police were notified.
During her trial at Southampton Crown Court, one victim remarked: "Having to tell my parents was so difficult.
Seeing their distress made me so angry." Judge Christopher Parker QC described the damage inflicted as "severe" and noted that the offenses occurred over many years.
Detective Constable Mark Harris commended the victims for their courage in coming forward to report the abuse.
