March 2022 Pervert dad-of-three caught with 1,373 indecent images of children Dad-of-three Timothy Powis downloaded hundreds of indecent images of children on his phone. The 43-year-old was arrested after police turned up at his Uttoxeter home and seized his phone and computer equipment. They found 1,373 indecent images of children on his phone, including 302 category A images, the most serious, including images of children being sexually abused. They also recovered 26 extreme pornographic images. Now Powis, who served in the Navy, has been handed a two-year community order as a direct alternative to a prison sentence. Prosecutor Nick Tatlow told Stoke-on-Trent Crown Court that police went to the defendant’s home at 6.50am on January 21 this year. He answered the door and was arrested on suspicion of possessing and making indecent images of children. Mr Tatlow said: “An initial examination of his phone revealed indecent images of children.” An analysis found 302 still indecent images and one moving indecent image at category A; 365 still and three movies at category B; and 700 still and two moving images at category C. There were also 25 still and one moving extreme pornographic image. Mr Tatlow said: “Some of the images were of very young children, no more than babies or toddlers. The category A images depicted sexual abuse of real children. A number of browser searches were found, including, ‘Young Teen Porn’.” Powis, of Weaver Road, Uttoxeter, pleaded guilty to six charges of making indecent images of children and possessing an extreme pornographic image between July 23, 2020 and January 28, 2021.
