June 2013 Pervert filmed teenage girl as she had a bath A PAEDOPHILE voyeur who set up a spycam in a schoolgirl’s bathroom has been jailed for six months. The equipment, taped to the wall behind the taps by Garry Barker, was spotted by the teenager as she lay in the tub at her home in Uttoxeter. She immediately alerted her mother who told her husband to get Barker, a visitor to the house, out of the property, said Paul Farrow, prosecuting. Barker, aged 61, of Park Avenue, Uttoxeter admitted voyeurism and four offences of making indecent images of children. Recorder Mr Gareth Evans QC told Barker; “What you did was disgusting. “You set up a camera in a bathroom to film a young girl. “It was pre-planned, you bought the equipment, you used a pretext to get in to the bathroom, you put the camera in a position where it could take photographs and you were excited by that. “That young girl did nothing to ask for that. You have an unhealthy interest in young girls.” Mr Farrow told Stafford crown court that the girl, who cannot be identified felt ‘physically sick’ when she realised what had happened. Her mother took her to the police station and handed over the spycam. Barker was arrested the same night in March last year and police seized a portable recorder and a computer. The recorder showed Barker setting up the device, placing it in the bathroom and footage of the girl in the bath. His computer revealed indecent images of children, including 45 movies at level one and two still photos at the serious level four. Darron Whitehead, defending, said the footage would never be used by Barker, who was ashamed of what he had done.
