October 2015 Pervert jailed after being caught with 25,000 indecent images of children A man from Bury St Edmunds caught with more than 25,000 indecent images of children has been jailed. Terance Gray, 53, was arrested after police searched his home on January 22 and seized computer equipment. Ipswich Crown Court heard on Monday that the images found on a laptop computer and a hard drive included very young children. Prosecuting, Michael Crimp said 2,000 of the images discovered had been categorised as being at the highest level of seriousness while 19,000 were at the lowest level together with a small number of extreme pornographic images. Gray, of Prince of Wales Close, had pleaded guilty at an earlier hearing to possession of prohibited images of children, making indecent images of children and possession of extreme pornographic images. Defending, Andrew Shaw said Gray had no previous convictions and had worked for the same employer for the past 20 years, although he was currently suspended and had been signed off as medically unfit. Sentencing him to 12 months imprisonment, Judge John Devaux told Gray that an immediate prison sentence, taking into account a relatively large number of images of the most serious nature, was the only appropriate course he could take. Gray was also ordered to sign on the sexual offences register for 10 years and was made the subject of a sexual harm prevention order for an indefinite period.
