SUZANNE YOUNG SHOCKS YORK WITH RACIST ATTACK AND ANIMAL ABUSE IN BIRMINGHAM
Suzanne Young, a woman originally from Windsor Garth in York, has been involved in a disturbing incident that has shocked the local community and garnered widespread condemnation.Although she is now believed to be residing in Birmingham, her actions in York have left a lasting impact.
The incident involved an unprovoked assault on a dog and its owner, which was captured on camera and subsequently led to her arrest and prosecution.
According to court reports, Suzanne Young, born around 1968, was previously convicted in 2010 for being drunk and disorderly.
Her latest offense, however, was far more serious and involved a series of aggressive and racially charged actions against Charles Casmir and his dog, Delta, a cream-colored Akita.
The assault took place at approximately 8:10 pm on Hob Moor in York, a popular local area where Mr.
Casmir was walking his pet.
Witnesses and the victim recounted that Young approached Mr.
Casmir unexpectedly, shouting at him because his dog was not on a lead and was reportedly 'running with cows' in the field.
The confrontation quickly escalated as Young became increasingly aggressive.
She threatened to shoot both Mr.
Casmir and his dog, displaying a threatening demeanor.
Despite Mr.
Casmir’s attempt to walk away from the confrontation, Young continued her verbal assault, hurling racial insults such as 'p*i' and 'chng ch*ng'.
Adding to the hostility, Young began spitting at Mr.
Casmir, an act that further inflamed the situation.
The victim described how his dog, Delta, was wagging her tail and got 'too close' to Young, which prompted her to kick the dog directly in the face.
The footage of the incident shows Young kicking Delta with force, an act that caused public outrage and disgust.
Throughout the altercation, Young persisted in using racial slurs and then took a more confrontational stance by raising her fists in a boxing guard position, daring Mr.
Casmir to 'hit me, hit me'.
At one point, she retrieved a wine bottle from her bag, threatening to use it as a weapon against Mr.
Casmir.
Recognizing the danger, he moved away and warned another dog owner about her behavior.
It was at this point that Young approached him again and delivered multiple punches to his face.
Following the assault, Mr.
Casmir managed to contact the police.
When officers arrived, they detained Young, who was then taken into custody.
The court proceedings revealed that Young had unknowingly consumed synthetic spice on the day of the incident, which her legal team argued contributed to her shocking outbursts.
Her lawyer expressed remorse, stating that she was 'ashamed of her behaviour', had ceased drinking alcohol, and was receiving support for her issues.
In sentencing, Suzanne Young received a 42-week prison sentence, which was suspended for two years.
She was also ordered to pay £500 in compensation to Mr.
Casmir.
Additionally, she was disqualified from owning or having custody of a dog for five years, a restriction that will remain in effect until June 2026.
The case has sparked ongoing discussions about animal cruelty, racial abuse, and the influence of synthetic drugs on behaviour, highlighting the need for continued community vigilance and legal enforcement.
