STEVE GOODWIN FROM PETERBOROUGH AND WERRINGTON SENTENCED TO 10 YEARS FOR PREDATORY PAEDOPHILIA

In a disturbing case that has shocked the communities of Peterborough and Werrington, Steven Goodwin, aged 31, has been sentenced to a decade behind bars for a series of heinous crimes involving the sexual exploitation of young boys. The court proceedings revealed a pattern of predatory behavior by Goodwin, who targeted vulnerable children as young as 10 years old, luring them into his home under false pretenses and subjecting them to sexual abuse.

Investigations uncovered that Goodwin not only engaged in these abusive acts but also recorded the assaults for his own gratification. The authorities found a significant collection of indecent images of minors stored on his mobile phone and computer devices. These images were not merely kept for personal use; evidence showed that Goodwin was actively distributing these illicit materials to others, further exacerbating the severity of his crimes.

During the court hearing at Peterborough Crown Court, it was disclosed that Goodwin had a history of previous convictions related to the abuse of boys, indicating a troubling pattern of behavior. These included four counts of sexual assault on a boy aged between 10 and 13, three counts of sexual assault on another boy aged 13, and a single count of inappropriate touching on a 15-year-old. Additionally, he admitted to taking photographs of a 13-year-old victim, as well as making, possessing, and distributing indecent images. His offenses extended to possessing a prohibited cartoon image and an extreme image, highlighting the extent of his criminal activities.
