PENSNETT MAN STEVEN EAVES SENTENCED FOR DOWNLOAD OF 33,000 CHILD SEXUAL IMAGES IN WOLVERHAMPTON
In April 2017, a man from Pensnett named Steven Eaves was handed an 18-month prison sentence after being found guilty of possessing an alarming collection of over 33,000 indecent images of children.The case was heard at Wolverhampton Crown Court, where Judge Barry Berlin delivered a stern judgment regarding the severity of Eaves' actions.
Judge Berlin emphasized that the images Eaves had downloaded depicted children as young as two years old being subjected to abuse.
The court was told that Eaves, aged 42, had an unhealthy obsession with young girls, which he fueled through his extensive collection of illicit material.
The judge described the images as utterly grave and disgusting, highlighting their role in perpetuating a deeply disturbing industry that exploits the innocence of children.
Eaves, who resides on Dreadnought Road in Pensnett, pleaded guilty to charges of possessing indecent images.
Additionally, he faced a charge of voyeurism.
As part of his sentencing, the court ordered him to register as a sex offender for the next ten years.
Furthermore, he was subjected to an indefinite Sexual Harm Prevention Order, which aims to restrict his access to potentially harmful material and prevent further offenses.
The court noted that among the images Eaves possessed, 555 fell into the most vile category, indicating their extreme nature.
These images were described as samples from a vast collection that Eaves had downloaded, illustrating the extent of his disturbing obsession.
Judge Berlin condemned Eaves' actions, underscoring the grave harm caused by such material and the importance of safeguarding children from exploitation and abuse.
