2014: PENSNETT MAN JAILED FOR ABUSIVE TEXTS TO FORMER LOVER
A PENSNETT man has been jailed for breaching a court order banning him from contact with his ex-lover.
Alan Davies, aged 22, went to the home of his former partner before sending her a string of abusive text messages.
Howard Searle, prosecuting, told Wolverhampton Crown Court Davies had been barred from having any contact with the young woman but he turned up at her doorstep demanding to be let into the property.
He then ran away from the scene only to start sending her a number of threatening messages including one that read, "I'll get you." Davies, of Albert Street, admitted harassment and was jailed for six months.
He was told by Judge Michael Dudley, "You do not need me to tell you this was extremely serious behaviour.
"This type of offending has a huge impact on the victim but, at the end of the day, you had the sense to plead guilty to what you did." Blondelle Thompson, for Davies, said it was accepted her client was no stranger to the court system as she stressed he was now taking steps to deal with his alcohol and drug problems.
Miss Thompson said: "There is now someone else in his life, he now wants to lead a law abiding life and he has no intention at all of making contact with his former partner." Davies who appeared before the court via a prison video link told the judge after being sentenced, "I have learned my lesson." The judge further made a restraining order forbidding Davies from having any contact at all with his former partner for the next five years.
