STEPHEN REID FROM ABERDEEN FACES COURT OVER CHILD PORNOGRAPHY AND EXTREME MATERIALS

A man named Stephen Reid has made an appearance in court following serious allegations involving the possession of highly disturbing and illegal material. Reid, aged 62, appeared before Aberdeen Sheriff Court where he entered a guilty plea to two significant charges. The first charge pertains to his possession of extreme pornographic images, which he admitted to having between December 2014 and May 2018. The second charge involves the creation, permitting to be created, or taking indecent photographs or pseudo-photographs of children, with the incident occurring on February 8 of the previous year.

According to the deputy fiscal Lucy Simpson, law enforcement officers executed a search warrant at Reid’s residence on May 29 of the previous year. This action was based on intelligence that linked Reid’s IP address to the possession of indecent images of children. During the investigation, authorities seized multiple electronic devices, including laptops, which were subjected to detailed forensic analysis.

The examination uncovered a category A video, which is classified as the most severe and serious category involving children. This particular video had a playback duration exceeding 45 minutes, indicating a significant amount of illegal content. In addition to this, investigators discovered several extreme pornographic videos depicting acts of bestiality, further highlighting the disturbing nature of the material found.

Reid, who resides at Crown Cottages, Stuartfield, was represented in court and the sheriff, Morag McLaughlin, decided to defer sentencing until the following month. The case continues to be closely monitored as authorities pursue justice in this serious matter.
