A 48-year-old man has been sentenced to prison and issued a five-year restraining order after confessing to acts of stalking and assault against an ex-partner.
Stephen Dare, residing on Cornwall Road in Chester, appeared before Chester Magistrates Court on 9 February.
He pleaded guilty to one charge of assault by beating and to stalking behavior.
As part of his sentence, he received a five-year restraining order and was sentenced to a 12-week jail term.
Dare’s relationship with the woman in question lasted during the previous year, but after she ended the relationship, he attempted to rekindle it.
His unwanted visits to her home occurred between 28 October and 19 November 2025, during which he was verbally and physically aggressive and made threats towards her.
Throughout this period, he also stalked her, engaged in ongoing abusive conduct, and made repeated phone calls.
Although she briefly returned to him, the relationship proved damaging, and she was assaulted.
After she ended things again, Dare’s abusive behavior persisted.
