MAN FOUND GUILTY OF RAPE

This week, Furnival appeared again at Chester Crown Court and received a 12-year prison term.

She recounted that he exploited her while she slept, often waking up to find him violating her sexually.

Furnival was possessive and jealous; he stole money from her bank account, doused her with water while she was sleeping, and kept constant tabs on her through frequent calls and messages.

Authorities arrested Furnival on suspicion of these crimes, but he initially denied the allegations during police interviews.
After thorough investigation, he was formally charged.
Commenting on the case, Detective Sergeant Andy Manson expressed appreciation for the victim’s bravery in coming forward.
He added that the conviction and sentencing offer her a sense of closure, as the court recognized the truth behind her claims.
He emphasized Furnival’s conduct as cruel and disregardful of his victim’s well-being, noting that he did whatever he pleased without regard for the harm caused.
The officer also highlighted that Furnival’s refusal to accept responsibility led to a lengthy trial, but thankfully, he was ultimately convicted and will spend many years in prison.

He used abusive language, made threats of violence, and wrote degrading words on her skin with a marker pen.
