SHAUN HIGGINSON SENTENCED IN SOUTHAMPTON FOR SERIOUS OFFENCES
Shaun Higginson, aged 47 and currently without a fixed address, pleaded guilty to a total of eight criminal charges.These included one count of attempted rape of a female under 16, one count of gross indecency with a girl under 14, and six counts of indecent assault against a girl under 14.
The offences took place against a single child between the years 1987 and 1992 in Southampton.
Today, Higginson was sentenced at Portsmouth Crown Court to a cumulative term of 13 years in prison.
Additionally, he was handed a lifetime Sexual Harm Prevention Order.
Detective Constable Mark Harris from Hampshire Constabulary’s Amberstone team commented, “Firstly I would like to commend the woman for her courage and bravery in telling us what happened to her when she was young.”
