In a disturbing case that highlights the ongoing threat of online child exploitation, Sean Morgan, a 25-year-old man from Carmarthen, has been convicted of serious offences involving the grooming and sexual solicitation of a teenage boy.
The incident came to light after police investigations revealed Morgan's disturbing online activities, which included pretending to be a 15-year-old boy to lure a minor into performing sexual acts for him.
It was in February of this year that authorities raided Morgan's residence in Carmarthen, following intelligence provided by the National Crime Agency.
The NCA had flagged that someone at his address was accessing indecent images, prompting a police operation.
During the raid, officers seized Morgan's laptop computers and mobile phone, uncovering a cache of more than 2,000 indecent images and videos.
These materials included photographs and videos depicting children, many dressed in school uniforms, which appeared to have been copied from social media platforms without the consent of the minors involved.
