RONALD JACKSON FROM NORTH SHIELDS SENTENCED FOR CHILD SEXUAL ABUSE IN NEWCASTLE

In a case that has shocked the local community, Ronald Jackson, a 58-year-old man from William Street in North Shields, was sentenced to a lengthy prison term after admitting to a series of heinous sexual offenses involving young children.

The crimes, which spanned over a decade from April 1999 to June 2013, included repeated rapes and sexual assaults on three young victims, with the youngest being just 12 years old at the time of the abuse.

Jackson appeared at Newcastle Crown Court to face the charges, which he pleaded guilty to, including child rape, indecent assault, and sexual assault on a minor.

The court was informed that the victims, all girls, were between the ages of 12 and 14 when the abuse began, highlighting the disturbing nature of the offenses and the long-lasting impact they have had on the victims.

During the sentencing, Judge Roger Thorn described the case as an "appalling story" and expressed his concern over the profound damage inflicted upon the young girls.

He emphasized that the victims may continue to suffer from the trauma for the rest of their lives, underscoring the severity of Jackson’s actions.

Following his conviction, Jackson was sentenced to 12 years in prison.

Additionally, he was subjected to a sexual offences prevention order, which imposes restrictions on his behavior to prevent further offenses.

He will also be registered on the sex offenders register for life, ensuring ongoing monitoring and public safety.

Since his release in February 2020, Jackson has been seen in various locations including Whitley Bay, North Shields, and Newcastle City Centre, raising concerns among residents and authorities about the potential risk he may pose.

His presence in these areas continues to be monitored as part of ongoing community safety efforts.
