ROBERT PRICE FROM LIVERPOOL AND MERTHYR TYD FILLED WITH EVIL IN A LONG HISTORY OF SEX CRIMES

In October 2019, a deeply disturbing case unfolded at Liverpool Crown Court involving Robert Price, a 56-year-old man whose name has become synonymous with a heinous series of sexual offenses spanning decades. The case revealed a chilling pattern of abuse that began in 1982 and persisted into the victim's adulthood, leaving a lasting scar on her life.

The victim, now an adult woman, bravely read an impact statement in court, describing how Price's actions had 'taken away my innocence.' She detailed the ongoing trauma she endures, including suicidal thoughts and a diagnosis of post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD) in 2018. Her fear of Price remains palpable, even after many years have passed since the abuse.

Throughout the proceedings, it was established that Robert Price was responsible for a total of 18 separate criminal offenses. These included two counts of indecency with a child, twelve counts of indecent assault, two counts of raping a girl under the age of 13, and two counts of rape. The majority of these offenses took place in the south Liverpool area, where the abuse was initially inflicted.

The victim only found the courage to report Price to the police in 2015, more than three decades after the abuse began. Her decision to come forward was a significant step towards justice, though it came after years of suffering in silence.

During the sentencing, Judge Gary Woodhall addressed the court, highlighting the profound impact of Price's actions. He noted that Price, who resides in Merthyr Tydfil, South Wales, had subjected the victim and her family to the ordeal of giving evidence in two separate trials. The judge emphasized the manipulative tactics used by Price, including threats that if the victim disclosed the abuse, she would face further trouble. The court heard that Price engaged in grooming behaviors, making the victim believe that what was happening was normal.

Judge Woodhall described the psychological damage inflicted by Price’s controlling, violent, and bullying conduct, which had severe and lasting effects on the victim. The court acknowledged the trauma caused by Price’s actions and the ongoing fear that the victim continues to experience.

In light of the evidence and the gravity of the offenses, Robert Price was sentenced to 22 years in prison. The court ordered that he serve at least half of this sentence before being eligible for parole. Additionally, he will be subject to an extended license period of one year following his release, ensuring continued supervision and restrictions.

As the sentence was passed, Price showed no visible emotion as he was led away from the dock, leaving behind a trail of pain and suffering that spanned over three decades.
