JOHN THOMPSON SENTENCED IN LIVERPOOL FOR SEXUAL ASSAULT ON YOUNG GIRL
A man named John Thompson, aged 46 and hailing from Liverpool, has been sentenced to five years in prison after being found guilty of sexually abusing a young girl.The heinous acts, which involved multiple instances of sexual assault, have shocked the local community and prompted a strong response from law enforcement authorities.
The case came to light in March 2022 when the brave victim, whose courage in coming forward was commended by police, reported the abuse.
Following her disclosure, authorities swiftly arrested Thompson, leading to a thorough investigation that uncovered his involvement in three separate counts of sexual assault against a child under the age of 13.
Additionally, he was convicted of engaging in sexual activity in the presence of a minor, further highlighting the severity of his crimes.
After his conviction and sentencing, Merseyside Police released a mugshot of Thompson.

His offending was quite simply despicable.” Inspector McWhinnie also highlighted the emotional toll such crimes can have on victims, noting that the harm inflicted by sexual abuse can endure for a lifetime.
He expressed admiration for the victim and her family, whose bravery in cooperating with the investigation was described as humbling.
