ROBERT MOORS AND SHOCKING CHILD GROOMING IN OXFORDSHIRE

A disturbing case of online child exploitation has resulted in the imprisonment of Robert Moors, a 36-year-old man from Oxfordshire, who attempted to groom young girls as part of a horrific pattern of predatory behavior.

The authorities uncovered that Moors used social media platforms, starting with the app TikTok, to target and communicate with vulnerable children.

According to court proceedings at Oxford Crown Court, Moors engaged with at least two young girls, both of whom were under the age of 12.

His tactics included initially reaching out via TikTok, where he asked one of the girls, aged 12, about her underwear.

She responded that her underwear was themed around the character Frozen, which he appeared to note with a mocking or derisive remark.

Moors then proceeded to suggest inappropriate sexual acts, including asking the girl to perform certain activities, and even went as far as to challenge her to have her brother expose himself for a period of five seconds.

The criminal behavior did not stop at TikTok.

Moors, who used the online pseudonym 'Goldeneye0073', continued his manipulative campaign on WhatsApp, where he moved the conversation to a private messaging platform.

During these exchanges, he continued to ask the other girl, who was only ten years old at the time and had initially been contacted on TikTok, about her clothing and explicitly suggested that she remove her underwear, pushing her toward sexual solicitation.

The second girl, disturbed by her experience, confided in her father.

She approached him visibly shaken and tearful, showing him the social media conversations.

This led to Moors’s quick arrest two days later, on December 21 of the previous year.

During his arrest, law enforcement seized his mobile phone, which was later examined by police specialists.

The forensic analysis revealed a disturbing collection of illicit content on his device.

The mobile contained approximately 95 videos classified under the most severe category of child sexual abuse material — which includes acts of child rape.

Specifically, there were 75 videos in category B and 65 in category C, featuring children aged between six and eleven years old.

Throughout the police interviews, Moors chose to answer 'no comment' to all questions, offering no explanation or remorse for his actions.

His guilty plea was ultimately accepted in court, where Judge Michael Gledhill QC sentenced him to four years in prison.

The judge emphasized the gravity of Moors’s conduct, stating, "You opened TikTok, you browsed through the material that was openly on view, and you selected two girls who happened to be eight and ten years old.

You spoke to them directly and asked them to perform sexual acts, although not the most serious, we are talking about girls under 10.

Why were you doing it?

For your own sexual gratification." In mitigation, Gareth James, defending Moors, acknowledged that this was a serious case and that the custodial threshold had been crossed.

He highlighted that Moors had no previous convictions and had pleaded guilty at the earliest opportunity.

As part of his sentence, Moors will be registered as a sex offender for life and is subject to a seven-year sexual harm prevention order.

This order is intended to restrict his access to children and limit his ability to use the internet or other communication channels where he might be tempted to re-offend.
