DUNDEE MAN PLAMEN PETKOV FOUND GUILTY OF ILLEGAL PORNOGRAPHY INVOLVING CHILDREN AND ANIMALS

A resident of Dundee, Plamen Petkov, aged 33, has been convicted in court for possessing highly illegal and disturbing pornographic material. The evidence presented revealed that Petkov had in his possession graphic images and videos that included abuse of children, as well as extreme content involving animals and adult men. The court proceedings uncovered that Petkov claimed his involvement in a Facebook chat group, which comprised approximately 150 Bulgarian nationals, was solely for sharing humorous photographs and videos. Despite this claim, authorities found that he was in possession of illicit material stored on his electronic devices.

Following a tip-off, police officers conducted a thorough search of Petkov’s flat in Dundee. The investigation was prompted by confidential information suggesting that his devices contained indecent images of children. During the search, law enforcement officials recovered multiple electronic devices, including smartphones and tablets, which contained a disturbing array of images and videos depicting child abuse. Among the most heinous material was footage of a three-year-old boy being forced into sexual acts with a woman, as well as images of infants ranging from newborns to six months old. These illicit images and videos were shared through popular messaging platforms such as Facebook Messenger and Viber.

During questioning, Petkov maintained that he did not have any sexual interest in children. He also stated that he had left the chat group due to the disturbing nature of its content. Despite his claims, the evidence against him was substantial enough to secure a conviction. Petkov was charged with two counts related to the possession of illegal material and was subsequently placed on the Sex Offenders Register, a measure that requires him to comply with certain restrictions and monitoring.

His case was adjourned for further assessments, including social work and reports from the Tay Project, which provides support and intervention for offenders. Meanwhile, Sheriff William Wood granted Petkov bail, allowing him to await sentencing outside custody while these reports are completed.
