NEIL ROBINS SENTENCED IN SOUTHAMPTON FOR PREDATORY SEXUAL OFFENSES AGAINST YOUNG GIRLS

In a disturbing case that has shocked the community of Southampton, Neil Robins, a 41-year-old man, has been handed a lengthy prison sentence after being convicted of a series of heinous crimes involving young girls.

The offenses, which spanned several years, included rape, sexual assault, voyeurism, and the creation of indecent images, all committed against six victims, some as young as 13 years old.

Robins's criminal activities came to light after victims bravely came forward to the police in June 2016, revealing a pattern of abuse that had been ongoing since 2012.

According to court proceedings, Robins would often lure young girls by offering them alcohol, which he used as a tool to incapacitate them.

Once intoxicated, the victims were subjected to various forms of sexual abuse, with Robins recording some of these acts secretly using hidden cameras.

These recordings were stored on his phone in a concealed folder, highlighting the premeditated and calculated nature of his crimes.

The court heard that Robins's offending was not an isolated incident.

In fact, he had a prior conviction dating back to 1995 for a similar offense, where he assaulted a woman in a bush, forced her to remove her clothing, and then fled with her bra and pants.

This history underscored a troubling pattern of predatory behavior.

During the trial at Southampton Crown Court, Judge Christopher Parker QC sentenced Robins to a total of 26 years in prison.

The judge emphasized the severity of Robins's actions, condemning his deliberate encouragement of alcohol consumption among vulnerable young girls to facilitate his abuse.

The judge also pointed out that Robins failed to accept responsibility for his crimes, which increased the gravity of his misconduct.

Prosecutor Nicholas Tucker presented statements from the victims, describing the profound and lasting impact of Robins's actions.

One victim stated, “I have changed as a person.

It has been a period of destruction,” while another expressed feelings of disgust, saying, “I feel disgusted… it feels as though I should be punished.” Judge Parker highlighted the significant risk Robins posed to children and teenagers, noting that his actions had a potentially devastating effect on the victims—effects that may be more profound than they can currently comprehend.

The court acknowledged the trauma inflicted and the long-lasting scars left behind.

Robins, who resides in Orchard Court, Southampton, will serve a minimum of 11 years before he becomes eligible for parole.

His sentencing reflects the serious nature of his crimes and the community's need for justice and protection from such predatory behavior.
