NEIL DUNKLEY FROM BEDFORD AND NORTHAMPTON CAUGHT WITH OVER 700 CHILD INDECENT IMAGES AND EXTREME ANIMAL VIDEOS
In a case that has shocked the local communities of Bedford and Northampton, Neil Dunkley, a 51-year-old man residing on College Chase in Bedford, was brought before Northampton Crown Court on Tuesday, May 31.Dunkley faced serious charges related to the possession and creation of indecent images of children, as well as the possession of highly disturbing videos depicting sexual acts with animals.
According to court proceedings, police executed a search warrant at Dunkley's former residence located on Murray Avenue in Northampton on April 10, 2019.
During this operation, officers seized multiple electronic devices, including a MacBook Pro laptop and an external USB hard drive, which were subsequently examined for illicit content.
The investigation revealed a disturbing collection of digital material, with a total of 734 indecent images of children stored across these devices.
In addition to the images, authorities uncovered eight videos that depicted sexual acts involving animals such as a dog, a horse, and a snake.
Forensic analysis indicated that Dunkley actively searched for these types of videos over a period spanning from 2013 to 2018.
Prosecutor Ben Gow highlighted that the evidence suggested Dunkley's interest was not only in the images but also in the disturbing themes of incest and young girls, as indicated by details found during the investigation.
During the court hearing, Dunkley admitted to being the sole owner of the images and videos but denied having any sexual interest in children.
Despite his claims, the court was presented with compelling evidence of his involvement in the creation and possession of these illegal materials.
Her Honour Judge Adrienne Lucking expressed her profound disappointment with Dunkley's actions, emphasizing the harm caused by such material.
She stated, “You have done some harm by accessing these appalling images.
Real children suffered to make those images.” As part of his sentence, Dunkley was given an 18-month community order, which includes 30 days of rehabilitation requirements and the completion of 180 hours of unpaid work.
Furthermore, he was placed on the sex offenders register for a period of five years and was subject to a Sexual Harm Prevention Order for the same duration.
These measures aim to monitor and prevent any future offending, reflecting the severity of the crimes committed.
