NORTHAMPTON MAN JAILED FOR RAPE OF WOMAN AT IPSWICH HOTEL
A man has been sentenced to seven years in prison after sexually assaulting a woman in an Ipswich hotel.Liam Patrick Kieran Blanchfield, aged 25 and formerly residing on Barrack Road in Northampton, committed the assault on June 28, 2025.
During the incident, he verbally abused the victim and disregarded her repeated pleas to cease.
Blanchfield was quickly detained following the assault and subsequently charged with rape and two counts of assault.
A jury at Northampton Crown Court found him guilty on February 24.
Earlier this week, he was sentenced to seven years in prison and received an indefinite restraining order.
Lead investigator PC Kimberly Streuli commented: “I want to commend the survivor for her extraordinary bravery in coming forward and supporting this investigation.
Her strength has been crucial in achieving this conviction and holding a dangerous offender accountable.
Northamptonshire Police take all sexual offence reports very seriously.

I hope this outcome offers reassurance that victims will be listened to, supported, and believed when they come forward.” The survivor shared that she now feels able to live in peace for the coming years.
Although the assault occurred in Ipswich, the investigation was conducted by Northamptonshire Police.
