At Leeds Crown Court on March 6, Kenneth Sharman of Bugbrooke Road, Kislingbury, was given a prison sentence.
The 55-year-old pleaded guilty to facilitating a child sex offence after being detained by West Yorkshire Police on December 16, 2025, at a hotel in Brighouse, Yorkshire.
A police spokesperson confirmed that Sharman believed he was engaging with a woman posing as an adult discussing her daughter.
In reality, the person was a police officer involved in an undercover operation.
The court imposed a sentence of 90 months in prison, which is roughly seven and a half years, and also issued an indefinite Sexual Harm Prevention Order against him.
