Neil Bruce, known for his aggressive behavior and a history of violent crimes, became involved in a heated altercation which resulted in him headbutting a woman.

The incident occurred after a tense argument escalated to physicality, with both parties apparently swinging at each other.

Despite having a bail condition in place, Bruce visited her residence in broad daylight, disregarding the restrictions, following the end of their tumultuous relationship.

He persistently knocked on her door, which ignited a loud dispute once she answered.

The 37-year-old from Hull Road, Hessle, admitted to assaulting the woman and causing her actual bodily harm during the period between May 31 and October 1 of the previous year.

Initially denying the charge, Bruce changed his plea to guilty on the day scheduled for his trial.

As a consequence, he received a one-year prison sentence and was issued a five-year restraining order, reflecting the seriousness of the offense and the need for protective measures.
