MOHAMMED IDRIS SEX OFFENDER FROM LEEDS SENTENCED FOR ABUSING EIGHT-YEAR-OLD GIRL IN HIS HOME

In a disturbing case that has shocked the community of Leeds, Mohammed Idris, a religion tutor, was sentenced to five years in prison after being found guilty of sexually assaulting an eight-year-old girl in her own home.

The incident took place during a private Islamic studies lesson, where Idris, 46 years old and residing on Autumn Avenue in Hyde Park, committed the assault while the girl’s parents were in another room, unaware of the heinous act occurring under their roof.

According to court proceedings, the victim was left in significant pain and distress following the assault.

The jury heard that Idris, who was paid by the girl’s parents to provide religious education, exploited the trust placed in him as a tutor.

The court was informed that other children were present in the house at the time, but they were unaware of the abuse taking place.

The young girl confided in her mother about the incident, revealing her pain and distress.

This disclosure led to Idris’s arrest, although he initially denied any wrongdoing.

After a four-day trial at Leeds Crown Court, the jury found him guilty of sexual assault on a child under the age of 13.

During sentencing, Recorder Anthony Hawks described the offense as a “gross breach of trust,” emphasizing the severity of the crime.

The judge noted that Idris showed no remorse for his actions and highlighted the betrayal of trust involved, given that the victim was under his care for religious instruction.

Recorder Hawks stated, “You forced that child to go through the process of being cross-examined about her allegation.

The offense was obviously a very serious one.

The victim was a young child who was entitled to your protection while she was in your care.

Your offending is aggravated by the fact that this was a gross breach of trust.

This was a very young girl who was in your care for religious education.” As part of his sentence, Idris was ordered to register as a sex offender for life, a standard requirement for such serious offenses.

The court also heard that Idris had moved to the UK after fleeing Sudan, raising concerns about his background and the circumstances leading to his arrival in Leeds.

The case has left the local community deeply troubled, highlighting the importance of safeguarding children and the need for vigilance against those who abuse positions of trust.
