SOUTHAMPTON MAN MICK KEVIN DOMICAN SENT REVENGE PORN AND HARASSED EX-PARTNER
A man from Southampton, Mick Kevin Domican, has been revealed in court for sending intimate photos of his ex-partner to her 84-year-old godmother as part of a revenge porn attack.Domican also forwarded these explicit images to six other individuals, including the woman's mother and sister.
Prosecution barrister Alex Lloyd explained that the elderly woman was appalled by the sharing of such images.
Domican, 36, used his phone and Facebook Messenger to send three explicit photos taken during his relationship with the woman.
Mr.
Lloyd described the images as "quite explicit" and noted that the messages from Domican only ceased after police involvement.
During the hearing, a victim personal statement was read, in which the woman expressed her confusion over Domican's actions and her concern that he might send more images.
She stated, "I do not want any further issues from him." Domican, of Landguard Road, faced charges including nine counts of disclosing private sexual photographs and films with intent to cause distress, as well as one count of sending offensive, indecent, or obscene messages via a public communication network.
He was also accused of breaching a suspended sentence.
He admitted to these offences, which occurred over a five-day period in October last year.
Defence barrister Oliver Foy explained that his client "struggles with alcoholism and his recollection of what happened is not great".
He argued that the images were not posted publicly and that there was no significant planning involved.
Mr.
Foy said, "The cause of his offending is obvious, even to himself.
He offends when he drinks." At sentencing, Judge Peter Henry highlighted Domican’s extensive criminal history, which includes 29 previous convictions for 72 offences such as battery, harassment, and breaching community orders.
The judge condemned his behaviour as an attempt "to cause maximum distress and to humiliate his victim." He sentenced Domican to ten months in prison and imposed a five-year restraining order to protect the victim.
