August 2015 Pervert took photographs of himself sexually abusing a nine-month-old baby girl A MAN who took photographs of himself sexually abusing a nine-month-old baby girl has been given a ten-year sentence. Police made the horrific discovery after they went to Michael Perry’s home in Leeds and seized computer equipment after he was suspected of downloading indecent images of children. Perry, 21, was given an extended prison sentence after a court heard he continues to pose a serious danger to young children. Leeds Crown Court heard officers went to Perry’s home on November 28 last year after receiving information that he had been accessing illegal images. A total of 216 indecent images and movies were found. He had also distributed images to others. Perry, of Shadwell Walk, Moor Allerton, was then re-arrested after the pictures of him abusing the baby were discovered. Heather Gilmour, prosecuting, said Perry told officers he had accessed the images after contacting people through internet chatrooms. She said: “He said he was lonely and had no social life and this was a way of connecting with people.” He pleaded guilty to attempted rape and offences of taking, possessing and distributing indecent images of children. Nigel Edwards, mitigating, said: “He offers no excuses or explanation to this offending.” Perry must serve a five-year prison sentence followed by an extended period on licence of five years. The Recorder of Leeds, Judge Peter Collier, QC, said: “You took a photograph of what you were doing and put that on your laptop. You had that for your own pleasure, I am quite satisfied about that.”
