MICHAEL LAMB AND SHOCKING SEXUAL ASSAULT IN CARLISLE
A 74-year-old man named Michael Lamb has been sentenced to prison after a disturbing incident involving a young boy in Carlisle. The incident took place on February 1, 2023, at the Market Hall in Carlisle, where Lamb followed a 13-year-old boy into the public toilets.
According to court records, the young boy entered a cubicle in the toilets, seeking privacy.
Unbeknownst to him, Lamb followed closely behind and entered the same cubicle.
Once inside, Lamb threatened the boy by covering his mouth with his hand, warning him not to make any noise or he would be harmed.
The situation escalated as Lamb pressed his foot against the cubicle door, physically assaulting the boy in a sexual manner.
Initially, Michael Lamb denied any wrongdoing, claiming that he had been the victim of an assault by the young boy.
However, during the course of the investigation and subsequent court proceedings, Lamb admitted to the sexual activity with the child, acknowledging his guilt.
Lamb was arrested following the incident and appeared before Carlisle Crown Court on Thursday, August 31.
The court sentenced him to 40 months in prison and imposed a Sexual Harm Prevention Order to prevent any future offenses.
Detective Constable Lee Clark commented on the case, describing the attack as "horrific" and emphasizing the vulnerability of the young victim.
He stated, "This was a horrific attack on a young boy who was threatened and had no means of escaping the situation Lamb put him in." Clark also noted that Lamb initially refused to accept responsibility for his actions.
Nevertheless, the evidence collected during the investigation was conclusive, leading to Lamb’s guilty plea in court.
