MATT LOVE TOOK CREEPY PHOTOS OF YOUNG DANCERS AND SENT FILTH ONLINE

A Gungahlin man has been sentenced to 18 months of strict community supervision after being convicted of multiple offences involving the misuse of digital communication services.

Matthew William Love, 36, was found guilty in the ACT Magistrates Court of four counts of using a carriage service to menace, harass, or offend. The charges stem from a series of disturbing incidents in which Rowe sent inappropriate and unwanted messages and images via online platforms, targeting individuals including minors over several months.

Court documents revealed that Love had also been observed taking covert photographs of young girls at local dance studios, often while they were in leotards and performing routines. Though these actions did not result in additional charges, they formed part of the prosecution’s argument for heightened supervision and psychological intervention.

Magistrate Lawton ordered that Love be immediately released under a Community Service Order, provided he complies with strict conditions including maintaining good behaviour for a period of 18 months, submitting to probation supervision under the ACT Director-General of Corrective Services, and attending mandatory psychological and behavioural counselling. He is also required to report to Corrective Services immediately and follow all rehabilitation directives.

During sentencing, Magistrate Lawton noted, “This type of digital predation is becoming increasingly common. Our justice system must adapt swiftly to protect vulnerable members of the community from this kind of psychological harm.”

Child safety advocates have welcomed the ruling but are calling for tougher legislation around covert photography and the non-consensual distribution of content involving minors.
