A paedophile who subjected two young boys to “truly wicked” acts of depravity over a five-year period has been jailed for more than six years.
The offending against the boys was brought to the police after Capazzo confessed last summer.
Bradford Crown Court heard Capazzo, 41, formerly known as Andrew Collins, had been a member of the Jehovah’s Witness faith.
Prosecutor Sophie Drake said his behaviour was brought to the elders at a Bradford place of worship, and he was “disfellowed,” but he could still attend meetings.
Last year, Capazzo walked into a police station and confessed to the crime.
He had plied the boys with alcohol and shown them adult horror and pornographic films.
One boy described becoming “numb” to the abuse and estimated it occurred 40-50 times.
Capazzo might have filmed some abuse, and his offending had a profound and continuing effect on the victims, who now feel worthlessness and guilt.
Capazzo pleaded guilty to sex charges including indecent assaults and sexual activity with a child.
He was sentenced to 6 years and 8 months in prison and will be subject to an indefinite sexual offences prevention order and lifetime registration as a sex offender.
